Monday, Oct. 7, 2024
Final day for qualified voters to register to vote in the Nov. 5, 2024, general election. Register online at GoVote.ky.gov.
Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024
- Mail-in absentee ballot requests available Sept. 21 to Oct. 22 at GoVote.ky.gov.
- Excused in-office absentee voting Oct. 23-30 in County Clerk’s Office.
- Early Voting Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 in County Office Complex.
- Election Day voting 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at County Office Complex Voting Center, Shady Grove, Sheridan, Mexico and Repton.
Deadlines for 2024 Candidates
- Deadline to file for non-partisan offices is 4 p.m. on June 4.
- Public drawing for ballot position is at 2 p.m. on June 6 in the County Clerk’s Office.
- Deadline to file a declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate is 4 p.m. on Oct. 25.
County Board of Elections
County Boards of Election are a statutory bipartisan committee in each Kentucky county that oversee each election, from selecting poll workers to certifying vote total. Each board is comprised of the county clerk, sheriff and two at-large members representing both the Democratic and Republican parties in the respective county.

The responsibilities of a Kentucky county clerk are numerous and varied, falling into the general categories of clerical duties of the fiscal court; issuing and registering, recording and keeping records of various legal instruments; voter registration and elections; tax duties; motor vehicle registrations, transfers and titling; and the issuance of marriage.
